MDA sector in December grew +12% in sales value. The biggest growth was in dishwashers +16%, coolers +13%, microwaves +30% and washing machines +14%. The only negative outcome was recorded in cooker category with -6%. December was a positive month for the MDA sector and as predicted it was the second biggest category in the market this year.
The SDA sector in December closed the year with a small growth of 2%. The biggest growth remains in the dental care equipment category +21%, irons with +9%, hot beverage makers +5%. The only category with negative results was vacuum cleaners that recorded -2%. However, it is expected that the SDA sector will struggle next year.
The TV sector again showed negative results both in sales units and value. In December, sales units fell to -11% and sales value fell to -5%. It is expected that next year sales units will grow more than sales value.
The SMP sector performed as expected in December. Sales units are up -1%, while sales value is up +19%. There is plenty of potential left in this sector for next year.
The IT sector finished the year with a decline, this time we have -7% in sales units and -4% in sales value. The biggest unit declines were in printers with -15% and monitors -14%. In sales value terms notebooks grew by +4%, media tablets by +12% while sales of printers fell -1% and monitors decreased -4%.
